Local Couple Escape Injury as Vehicle Spins Out After Hitting Rear of Tractor-Trailer

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Information has surfaced regarding a two-vehicle crash involving a local couple and a tractor-trailer in Washington Township.

According to an October 28 release issued by DuBois-based State Police, the crash happened around 2:03 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, on Interstate 80 east in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 31-year-old Vikas B. Redekar, of Brookville, was traveling in the right lane in a 2013 Dodge Avenger when he entered the left lane, striking the hub/rim of a 2024 Freightliner TT operated by 58-year-old James L. Partridge, of Muldrow, OK.

Redekar’s vehicle then struck the rear passenger side trailer tire causing it to rotate 180 degrees.

The vehicle then struck the bumper of the tractor-trailer again before coming to final rest.

Redekar and his passenger—27-year-old Ruchicka R. Sirsikavz, of Brookville—were not injured.

Partridge was also not injured.

All occupants were using a seat belt except for Redekar.

According to police, Redekar was charged with a traffic violation.
