Local Photographer Wins State Photo Contest

Yates_photo winnerHARRISBURG, Pa. (EYT) – Local photographer Kyle Yates was one of the winners in a state photo contest that occurred on February 24.

Yates was recognized among other Pennsylvania photographers by the The Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation.

His photograph of Clear Creek State Park (shown below) won Critics Choice for Best in Show.

“The key to grabbing that award winning image is to always have your camera ready,” explains Yates and “being recognized for my God-given talent as well as being able to showcase them on a state level, I owe all to God.”

There were over 400 entrants from across the state in different age groups and categories.

The award winning photographs are on display throughout the month of February in the East Wing Rotunda of the Capital Building in Harrisburg.

The winners had an opportunity to meet the Legislators representing their area, talk with other participants about their interest in photography, and enjoy a delicious spread provided by the Cumberland Perry Area VoTech.
