Local Woman Injured in Route 322 Crash

BOGGS TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a local woman was injured in a crash that occurred on US 322 in Boggs Township on Saturday.

According to police, the accident happened around 8:34 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, on US 322, just south of Laurel Run Road, in Boggs Township, Clearfield County.

Police say 42-year-old Erik A. Reitz, of Brockway, was operating a 2014 Toyota Tundra traveling west on US 322 when he fell asleep at the wheel and the vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a guide rail on the left side of the roadway. The guide rail then broke, causing the vehicle to go down an embankment where it struck a ditch.

Reitz and his passengers, identified as 40-year-old Brooke M. Reitz, of Brockway, and an 11-year-old female, from Brockway, were all using seat belts.

Brooke Reitz suffered suspected minor injuries.

Erik Reitz and the juvenile passenger were not injured.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Bigler Boyz towing.

Reitz was cited for a traffic violation.
