Louise L. Barkley

Louise L. Barkley, 74, of Punxsutawney, died on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at her home.

She was born on Aug. 10, 1941, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Helen R. (Woolford) and A. Duff Lewis, Sr.

On Feb. 3, 1974, she married Thomas B. Barkley, who preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2011.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Punxsutawney.

She was a graduate of the Grove City High School Class of 1960.

Louise worked as a legal secretary for Lindsay Coal and Lukehart and Lundy Law Firm.

Her hobbies included golfing, knitting, cross-stitching and traveling.

Surviving relatives include a son, Gary Barkley and wife Karen of Marion Center; a granddaughter, Kendell Barkley of Estero, Florida; a brother, A. Duff Lewis, Jr. of The Villages, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Ann Mumper of Punxsutawney and Angie Barkley of Punxsutawney; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at the funeral home, with the Reverend Brett Swanson officiating.

Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mrs. Barkley, to the Presbyterian Church of Punxsutawney or to the Punxsutawney Area Community Center.
