Lynne A. Snyder

7731_sm[1]Lynne A. Snyder, age 57, of Indiana, PA passed away on December 28, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot, PA.

She was born on February 24, 1958 in Kittanning, PA, to D. Carl and Frances Josephine (Houser) Snyder.

A graduate of Dayton High School (valedictorian, class of 1976), she earned a Bachelor degree in English Education from Indiana University of PA in 1980; a Master of Education Degree in English Education in 1987; a Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction Certificate through the Administrative and Policy Studies Department at the University of Pittsburgh in 1997; her Elementary Principal Certification from the University of Pittsburgh in 1999; and a Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from Westminster University in 2004. She held numerous teaching positions and was a Professional Development Coordinator for the Armstrong School District; held the position of Program Coordinator and Acting Middle School Principal for the Line Mountain School District; Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment for Apollo-Ridge School District; Assistant Elementary Principal for Brockway Area School District, and retired in July 2015 from the position of Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction at ARIN in Indiana, PA.

She was a lifelong member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, where over the years, she had been a Sunday School teacher, council member, and lay assistant.

Her memory will be cherished by her sister, Beth E. McAfoose and her husband Brian, of Kittanning, PA, two nieces, Sarah E. McAfoose of Bloomington, Indiana, and Amanda M. McAfoose of Kittanning, PA, numerous cousins, close friends, and colleagues.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances H. Snyder, on December 27, 2014, and her father, D. Carl Snyder, on October 26, 1999.

A memorial service will be scheduled in the spring.
