GASKILL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A hearing is scheduled for tomorrow for a Punxsutawney man who reportedly resisted arrest when police attempted to take him into custody following a suspected DUI crash in Gaskill Township.
Court documents indicate 31-year-old Troy Magnum Keller is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock at 1:30 p.m. on December 2, on the following charges:
– Resist Arrest/Other Law Enforcement, Misdemeanor 2
– DUI: Highest Rate of Alcohol (BAC .16+) 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
– DUI: General Impairment/Incapable of Driving Safely – 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
– Driving at Safe Speed, Summary
– Duties At Stop Sign, Summary
– Careless Driving, Summary
– Reckless Driving, Summary
– Fail To Report Accident To Police, Summary

The charges stem from a crash that occurred on Clover Run Road in June.
According to a criminal complaint, around 10:51 p.m. on June 19, Troy Keller drove through a posted stop sign on Clover Run Road, in Gaskill Township, Jefferson County and crashed his Chevrolet Silverado into the front yard of a residence, causing approximately $300.00 in damage to several pine trees.
The complaint indicates Keller never reported the crash and fled the scene.
Police were contacted by a witness who confirmed Keller was the driver of the crashed vehicle. Keller was subsequently located at a residence in Punxsutawney, and standardized field sobriety tests were administered, the complaint indicates.
When police attempted to place Keller into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence, Keller resisted, attempting to avoid being placed into handcuffs. He was then “assisted to the ground” by police to be placed into custody, according to the complaint.
Keller was transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital for a legal blood draw, but he refused to give blood. He was then transported to the Punxsutawney-based State Police station where a breath sample was taken, which found his BAC to be 0.161 percent. Keller also reportedly failed to provide valid insurance information for the involved vehicle, according to the complaint.
The charges were filed against Keller through Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock’s office on August 24.
