Man Arrested for Allegedly Attempting to Solicit 15-Year-Old for Sex in Brookville

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — On Tuesday, local police arrested an Ohio man who allegedly tried to solicit a minor for sex in Brookville.

Court records show the Brookville Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 28-year-old Anthony W. Jackson, of Canton, Ohio, on Tuesday, April 2, in District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak’s office.

According to a criminal complaint, Brookville Borough Police initiated an investigation after they were notified by the“814 Pred Hunters,” an organization of citizens primarily based in Clearfield that assists law enforcement agencies by establishing fake identities and posing as underage minors on social media sites including Telegram.

It was reported the group was in contact with a man who called himself “AJ” on text messages and telephone calls. The man was identified as Anthony Jackson, the complaint states.

Jackson had been in contact with a member of 814 Pred Hunters, who posed as a 15-year-old female decoy. Jackson messaged the decoy from March 4, 2024, through March 26, 2024, the complaint indicates.

The conversation started with Jackson sending a text message saying, “Hey beautiful.” Jackson acknowledged that he and the decoy met on a social media site called “MeetMe” and exchanged phone numbers. Almost immediately, the decoy informed Jackson she was only 15-years-old. They continued having a conversation, and Jackson said he was 28 years old. Jackson then said he’s “kool with it” and that he was fine with the two of them dating despite her age, the complaint notes.

Jackson acknowledged he could get in legal trouble for having a relationship with a minor, yet he soon asked the decoy to send him pictures of herself. Eventually, Jackson asked the decoy numerous, and “almost countless times,” for her to send him pictures of her buttocks and breast, according to the complaint.

Jackson used “grooming and mentally abusive language” in efforts to persuade the decoy to send him nude photographs of herself, the complaint states.

At one point, Jackson told the decoy that he was not worried about getting in trouble with the pictures she sent him, but rather getting caught while he was physically visiting her, the complaint indicates.

According to the complaint, the decoy told Jackson on three occasions that she was 15, and he understood that he could get arrested. Jackson said he was suspicious of her being a police officer because of how she was acting.

Jackson then asked if he had to use a condom during sexual intercourse. He proceeded to try to convince the decoy that he would not get her pregnant, which implied he was planning on having unprotected sexual intercourse with a minor child, the complaint notes.

On several occasions, Jackson requested the decoy to call him “Daddy” while they were together. He also asked her to arrive at the door wearing only a bath towel when he came to see her for the first time, the complaint states.

As the messages continued, Jackson asked the decoy to describe what she wanted to do sexually. Jackson started “showing care and affection” for the decoy, but he eventually transitioned into wanting to be in total control. The conversation evolved into Jackson telling the decoy that she had to listen to him and follow along with what he said to do. This was directed toward the sexual intercourse Jackson planned on having with the decoy, according to the complaint.

The two continued to have conversations about sexual intercourse, sending nude pictures of Dez, calling each other names of endearment, such as “Daddy,” “Wife,” “Husband,” and “Baby,” the complaint indicates.

While investigating this incident, officers noticed the text messaging continued with similar content. Jackson and the decoy even “break up” at one point, which showed Jackson believed he was in a real relationship with a juvenile, the complaint notes.

On March 26, the two arranged for a meeting on Allegheny Boulevard in Brookville Borough. However, Jackson did not follow through with his plans to meet the decoy. Then, on April 1, the two communicated that they would meet at a location on Hasting Street, in Brookville Borough. Officers from the Brookville Police Department and 814 Pred Hunters arranged to meet with the Jackson, who arrived around 8:23 p.m., the complaint states.

Jackson was dropped off by an Uber and placed under arrest just after exiting the vehicle, the complaint indicates.

He was informed of his Miranda Rights, and the organizer of 814 Pred Hunters questioned Jackson as to why he was there. Jackson said he was there to meet with the decoy, who he mentioned by name, the complaint notes.

Brookville Police Department Officer Mickey Stormer requested an arrest warrant be issued for Jackson.

He was arraigned on the following charges in front of Judge Bazylak at 11:05 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2:

  • Statutory Sexual Assault: 11 Years Older, Felony 1
  • IDSI Person Less Than 16 Yrs Age, Felony 1

  • Corruption Of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3
  • Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3
  • Indecent Assault Person Less 16 Yrs Age, Misdemeanor 2

Unable to post $50,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

He is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing.
