Man Charged After Undercover Drug Buy in Reynoldsville

REYNOLDSVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – A 28-year-old man is facing criminal charges in connection with an undercover drug sting in Jefferson County.

According to court documents, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office filed charges against 28-year-old Clifford Ernes Small, Jr., of Reynoldsville.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Brockway Police Chief Young, the charges stem from a controlled drug buy orchestrated as a joint effort by Brockway and Reynoldsville police.

The complaint states that around 7:00 p.m. on March 8, 2017, authorities met with a confidential informant (C.I.) at a designated location and instructed the C.I. to approach the residence of Clifford Ernes Small and ask for pain pills, meth, or heroin.

Around 7:36 p.m., authorities watched from nearby as the C.I. entered the private residence on South Third Street in Reynoldsville, known to be Small’s current residence.

Around 7:42 p.m., the C.I. exited the residence and made contact with the officers. They returned to the designated location where the C.I. gave authorities two capsule-shaped pills, white with the number “3604” stamped on one side and a “V” on the other side, which authorities suspected to be acetaminophen and hydrocodone.

Following an investigation, charges were filed against Small in District Judge David B. Inzana’s office.

He is awaiting a preliminary hearing on the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony (two counts)
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor (two counts)

Small is currently serving time at SCI Camp Hill on a probation violation related to a criminal mischief case.
