Man Facing Animal Cruelty Charges for Shooting Cat in Brookville

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Police say animal cruelty charges are pending against a Brookville man who reportedly shot his neighbor’s cat.

Brookville Borough Police say they were contacted on Sunday, October 3, after it was found that a known 74-year-old man had shot his neighbor’s cat.

According to police, the cat had escaped from its owner’s home and had gotten inside the suspect’s porch on Summit Street.

Police say the suspect reported that he attempted to “get the cat out with a broom” two times, but after the cat became “aggressive,” he shot the cat.

According to police, charges are pending through District Court 54-3-03.

The name of the accused was not released.
