Area Man Jailed for Hitting Woman, Knocking Out Tooth

PIKE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – An area man is behind bars after he reportedly struck a woman and knocked out her tooth.

Court documents indicate 27-year-old Tyler Edward Peters, of Clearfield, was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. Morris at 3:16 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, on the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, summary
– Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Summary

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Sunday, April 12.

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:11 a.m. on April 12, Clearfield-based State Police were dispatched to a residence on Skinner Lane in Pike Township, Clearfield County, for a report of a possible assault or fight.

At the scene, officers spoke with a witness who reported Tyler Edward Peters and a known victim were involved in a verbal altercation that became physical.

The witness reported that she heard Peters and the victim arguing in another room of the residence and heard the victim say, “You knocked my tooth out,” then went to the living room and saw the victim’s tooth was knocked out. The witness also reported the victim’s left eye appeared to be bruised and was nearly swollen shut and said the victim stated Peters had struck her in the face. She also noted Peters and the victim left the scene before police arrived.

Peters is currently lodged in the Clearfield County Jail on $10,000.00 monetary bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, with Judge Morris presiding.
