Man Facing Child Endangerment Charges Following Traffic Stop in Punxsutawney

PUNXSUTAWNEY BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – A 29-year-old man is facing child endangerment and related charges following a traffic stop in Punxsutawney Borough in which he was found to be driving under the influence.

Court documents indicate the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against Jordan Leroy Bush, of Mahaffey.

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:15 p.m. on January 4, Officer Haines, of the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department, observed a white Ford with an expired inspection sticker on East Mahoning Street in Punxsutawney, Jefferson County.

Officer Haines initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, later identified as Jordan Bush.

According to the complaint, Officers Haines and Pannebianco noted an odor of marijuana and asked Bush if he had smoked, to which he said he had not. Bush was then asked to exit the vehicle.

The complaint states the officers noted Bush’s eyes were glazed and bloodshot. He was then asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests.

According to the complaint, Bush exhibited signs of impairment during the tests. He was then taken into custody.

The complain notes when being told he was under arrest for driving under the influence, Bush shook his head in the affirmative.

A search of the vehicle was then performed, and a bag with a marijuana pipe, lighter, and grinder were found under the passenger side front seat.

Bush was taken to the Punxsutawney Area Hospital for a legal blood draw. The complaint states a later lab report showed Bush had 11-Hydroxy Delta-9 THC, Delta Carboxy THC, and Delta-9 THC in his system.

The complaint notes there was a female passenger as well as three minor children in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop.
