BROCKWAY BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – A 32-year-old man waived his hearing Wednesday on assault and related charges from an alleged domestic incident that occurred in Brockway in late November.

Court documents indicate the following charges against Brian Timothy Coppock, of St. Marys, were waived for court on Thursday, January 23:

– Simple Assault
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary
– Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Summary

The charges have been transferred to the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas.

Coppock remains free on $20,000.00 unsecured bail.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in Brockway Borough in late November 2019.

According to a criminal complaint, Trooper Connor, of the DuBois-based State Police, responded to a reported domestic dispute on Bond Street in Brockway Borough around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 24.

At the scene, Trooper Connor found Brian Timothy Coppock and an unconscious victim at the top of a flight of stairs. A sternum rub raised the victim to semi-consciousness and medical assistance was requested, as the victim reported head pain.

According to the complaint, Coppock reported he and the victim hadn’t spoken much in the last few days, and the victim suddenly kicked in the bathroom door and ripped the shower down while Coppock was in the shower. He said the victim then ran out of the bathroom and he tackled her, which caused her to strike her head on the edge of the wooden door frame as they both fell to the ground.

The complaint notes the victim was believed to have suffered a concussion. She had a bruise on her left triceps, as well as bruising on the back of her head.

Coppock was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak at 2:35 p.m. on November 24.
