Man Suffers Major Injuries in Crash on Rt. 36, Flown by Emergency Helicopter to Altoona Hospital

(EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 1:38 p.m. on August 7, a 38-year-old man suffered major injuries in an accident that occurred on State Route 36 (Cecil Hurd Highway), south of Bethlehem Hill Road, in Bell Township, Clearfield County.

According to police, 38-year-old Scott A. Dishong, of North Cambria, Pa., was traveling south on Cecil Hurd Highway and lost control of his 2007 Ford Focus.

The car exited the western portion of the road, traveled off the roadway, and impacted a tree, police say.

Dishong suffered major injuries and was flown by emergency helicopter to Altoona Hospital.

The car sustained heavy front end damage and was towed from the scene by Smitty’s Towing.

Mahaffey EMS and Mahaffey Fire Department assisted at the scene.
