Man Who Attempted to Sneak Meth Into Jail By Concealing It Under His Genitals Enters Guilty Plea

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – A Sykesville man caught attempting to bring methamphetamine into the Jefferson County Jail concealed under his genitals recently entered a guilty plea in court.

Court documents indicate 32-year-old Cory T. Crawford pleaded guilty to one second-degree felony count of contraband/controlled substance on October 7.

As a result of the plea agreement, the following charges were dismissed:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Possess Controlled Substance, Contraband/Inmate, Felony 2
– Possession of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor

Sentencing for the case has not yet been scheduled.

Crawford remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in early April.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 11:01 a.m. on April 2, PSP Punxsutawney were dispatched to the Jefferson County Jail for a report of an incoming arrestee attempting to conceal 23 individually packaged bags of methamphetamine.

According to the complaint, Cory Crawford was brought to the Jefferson County Jail by Jefferson County Adult Probation for a probation violation, and during a routine strip search, corrections officers discovered the packages of methamphetamine.

The complaint states Crawford attempted to hide the methamphetamine under his genitals but was unsuccessful.

The methamphetamine was collected by Trooper Green and was photographed, and NIK tested before being placed into evidence. The substance tested positive as methamphetamine, the complaint notes.

Crawford was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, April 6.
