Margaret Dubensky, 96, of McKees Rocks, died Monday, February 26, 2018, at Rosewood of the Ohio Valley, McKees Rocks.
She was born February 20, 1922, in DeLancey, PA, a daughter of the late Anna (Gaydos) and John Gernat.
On November 20, 1946, she married George Dubensky, who preceded her in death on February 13, 1975.
Margaret was a member of the Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church of McKees Rocks. She enjoyed making crafts and baking, especially Christmas cookies for her family. Margaret was a homemaker but worked packing parachutes during World War II.
She is survived by a son Thomas Dubensky of McKees Rocks, PA; a sister Donna Damson of San Diego, CA; nieces and nephews, Richard Gernat, Dennis Gernat, Maryanne Wesdock, Philip Wesdock, Susan Lainey, Julee Lindberg, and Thomas J. Wesdock; and many beloved cousins and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Basil and John Gernat; and four sisters, Mary “Mamie” Gernat, Sister Thomasine (Irene Gernat), Catherine Wesdock, and Martha Rumbosky; and a nephew John Wesdock.
Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2018, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Church of Punxsutawney with Father Vasyl Kadar officiating.
Interment will be in Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
