Margaret H. Wilson

Margaret H. Wilson (nee Humm) passed away on February 17, 2016 at Brandywine Assisted Living in Haddonfield.

Beloved wife of the late David E. Wilson, Sr. Dear mother of David E., Jr. (Martha) of Cherry Hill and Douglas E. (Judy) of Barrington, NJ. Loving grandmother of Kim, Kristy, Lindsey, Laura and Blair. Great grandmother of Cole, Paige, Cormac, Sadie, Ty, Dylan and Jack.

Margaret “Peg” was born and spent an active youth in Punxsutawney, PA where she enjoyed the distinction of being crowned the first Groundhog Queen in 1940. She married David Wilson and moved to Haddon Heights where she raised her family and was active in the Women’s Club, local theatre and the Methodist Church. After her husband’s passing, Peg spent the next thirty years successfully buying, renovating and selling waterfront properties both at the Jersey shore and in Florida. Her favorite and final stop was on the Gulf in Hudson, FL where she spent many happy years entertaining family and friends. Dave Jr. and his golfing buddies always made Hudson a frequent stop on their “winter tour”.

Peg was a remarkable woman in every sense of the word. She lived life to the fullest, had a rapier wit and a wonderful sense of humor. Peg left a lifetime of happy memories and anecdotes that those who knew her will share for years to come.

Service will be private with burial at Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Interfaith Caregivers, P.O. Box 186, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
