Margaret L. “Lois” Kear

Margaret L. “Lois” Kear, 89, Weedville, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at her residence after a lengthy illness.

She was born August 13, 1928 in Weedville, PA, where she lived her entire life, a daughter of the late Clyde & Alice (Reid) Gray.

On August 24, 1946, she married George E. Kear, Jr, who preceded her in death August 22, 2005.

Lois retired from Keystone Carbon in 1990 after more than thirty years. She was a member of Weedville United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time at her camp in Hicks Run. Lois is survived by four daughters: Linda Kear, Charlotte Pirazzi, Alice Workman & Joan Curci all of Weedville, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last survivor of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was predeceased by a daughter Lois Jane Kear, a granddaughter Amanda Workman, a grandson Gregory Rooker, five brothers: Lorraine “Bill”, Jacob, Burton, Miles & John “Rabbi” Gray, four sisters: Olive Wilt, Jane Barron, Dorothy Breukman & Mary Nowak.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017, from 10 am until 12 noon at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield.

Services will follow at the funeral home on Monday at 12 noon with Pastor Missy Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
