Marlene S. Fisher

Marlene S. Fisher, 85, died Thursday, March 31, 2016 in Denver, Colorado.

She was born on May 19, 1930, in Valier, Pa., a daughter of the late Lynn and Mona (Gabrielson) Means.

She married E. Lee Fisher on October 21, 1966, residing in Washington Grove, Maryland. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2013.

She is survived by two sisters, Dixie Laverne Kromer of Smiths Creek, Michigan; and Loree J. Gehrig of Denver, Colorado; a brother-in-law, Robert E. (Sam) Kromer; and many special nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings, Jackson C. Means; Harold B. Means; Benjamin Z. Means; Rebecca L. McCullough; Larry L. Means; and infant Sally Don.

Marlene was blessed with an inordinate amount of musical and artistic talent, which her family enjoyed and treasured for many years. She and Lee traveled extensively throughout the United
States and many foreign countries. They loved their cats and dogs, and any of them who were fortunate enough to walk through their door was one privileged animal.

Friends will be received from 12-1 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., 115 East Union Street, Punxsutawney.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Dawn Krishart.

Interment will follow in the Valier Cemetery, Valier, Pa.
