Mary L. Akins, age 77 of DuBois, PA, died Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, PA.
Born on June 30, 1943, in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ronald F. and Mary Martha (Galentine) Swope).
She married Edwin Akins. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1998.
Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed doing puzzles, crafts, and loved to go to yard sales.
Mary is survived by 3 sisters, Annabelle Brubaker and Eileen Swope both of Luthersburg, PA, and Linda Kunselman of DuBois, PA; and longtime companion, Ted Haag of DuBois, PA; and numerous nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Ronald Swope, and 1 sister, Gwendolyn Turnbull.
Due to our current circumstances, there will be a private visitation and funeral service from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Charles Lee, Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in St. Luke’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Luthersburg, PA.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
