Mechele Marie (Healey) Grenfell, age 65, passed away Wednesday September 29, 2021, after a prolonged illness.
Mechele was born in Bradford, PA on December 26, 1955.
As a child, her family moved to Phoenix, AZ.
She graduated from Sunny Slope High School in 1973.
Shortly after graduation she met and later married her late husband Nicholas Pirie Grenfell IV in the summer of 1976.
She had a full career working for American Express for three decades before retiring.
After retiring, Mechele left the heat of Phoenix and moved to Punxsutawney to enjoy the snow.
Mechele was fiercely independent.
She enjoyed arts and crafts and was truly fond of holidays, especially Christmas.
She will be missed by her friends and family.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Punxsutawney Area Hospital and Mulberry Square care facility.
She is survived by her three children Debbie (Grenfell) Clements, Beth (Grenfell) DeSelms, and Nicholas Grenfell V, and by her seven grandchildren, she is survived by two sisters, Vickie (Healey) Hoffman and Cheri (Healey) Hobbs, two nephews, six nieces & 14 great nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert & Shirley (Fullerton) Healey, husband, Nick (2018), brother, Robert Healey (2018), and sister, Cindy (Healey) Price (2018).
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Punxsutawney Area Hospital and Mulberry Square care facility.
An internment of ashes will take place in Phoenix, AZ on a date to be determined by the family.
