Charles Bowdish Miniature and Model Railroad

The story of the creative genius of Charles Bowdish and his miniature and model railroad creations is one of the most popular exhibits at the JCHC. Every year, the JCHC celebrates his birthday by redesigning the display to keep it fresh and entertaining for visitors.

The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to noon. It is held in order to provide canned goods and other non-perishable items to the Big Run Food Bank. Everyone is welcome to stop by and have pancakes and sausage. Santa will be on hand to hear from the kids, so make sure you bring them along. The kids will get a treat bag from Santa. Try and bring along canned goods or other non-perishable items for the food bank. There is no cost for the breakfast, although donations for the food bank will be accepted.

Help Measure the Largest Black Cherry Tree in the State

Cook Forest is home to not only the largest black cherry in the state of Pennsylvania, but also the tallest black cherries north of the Mason Dixon Line. Cook Forest also harbors the greatest number of know black cherries in the 130 ft height class north of the Great Smoky Mountains. Meet at the Log Cabin Inn for an off trail hike to help re-measure the Davis Memorial State Champ Black Cherry, the tallest know black cherry in the Northeast.
