Melva R. Boyles

Melva R. Boyles, 79, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born August 19, 1936 in Rimersburg, the daughter of David J. and Minnie M. (Bowser) Yates.

Melva was a lifetime resident of Rimersburg and graduated from Union Joint High School. She previously worked at Clarview Nursing Home and Clarion Forest VNA Hospice in housekeeping, but spent many years as a homemaker. Melva was a member of Cherry Run United Presbyterian Church and was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with family and friends. Those who knew Melva will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and wit, and she will be greatly missed.

Her memory will be cherished by her sons, Charles E. Boyles, of Rimersburg, David P. Boyles, and wife, Kathy, of Avoca, NY, and Kenneth F. Boyles and wife, Valerie, of Rimersburg; twin daughters, Jane Marie Boyles and Jill Renea Boyles, both of Rimersburg; grandchildren, Charles “Chucko” Boyles and wife, Kelsi, Sarah Kerr and husband, Brett, Matthew Boyles, John Airhart and wife, Kristi, Autumn Day and husband, Malik, Amber Bliss and husband, Matthew, and Nikki O’Neil and husband, Jon; great-grandson, Cayden Frank Boyles; and sisters, Katherine M. Steele, Gail F. Stanford, and Ellen J. Sullivan, all of Rimersburg.

Melva was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Jesse F. Boyles, whom she married August 27, 1954 and who died March 13, 1998; son, Terry R. Boyles; brothers, James W. and Richard J. Yates; and sister, Billie JoAnn Summerville.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Sunday, June 5, 2016, and from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Monday, June 6, 2016, at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main St., Rimersburg.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Cherry Run U. P. Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA.
