Mildred A. Balbo

Mildred A. Balbo, age 88, of DuBois, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

She was born on October 11, 1927 in Corbettown, PA and was a daughter of the late Lawrence Sprague and Alice (Heberling) Sprague. She was married to Carl Evear Anderson who passed away in March of 1964. She later married John Balbo who died in 1987.

Mildred worked as a packer at Brockway Glass in Brockway, PA. She was a member of the Beechwoods Presbyterian Church. In her earlier years her hobbies included sewing and crocheting. She also enjoyed traveling and going to the beach. She has always been interested in the lives of her children and their families.

Survivors include three children: Carroll Anderson Wilcox and husband Richard of Brockport, Carl E. Anderson and wife Kathy of Woodbridge, VA, and Paul R. Anderson of Falls Creek; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one sister: Blanche Ogden and husband Ralph of Morrisdale.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Anderson; second husband, John Balbo; two brothers: Gerald Sprague and Robert Sprague; and one sister, Ruth P. Nazimiec; one granddaughter; and one grandson.

She will be sadly missed by her family.

Memorial Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery.
