Miriam L. Ray

Miriam Lucile Holt Ray, 89, of Brookville, PA passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic in OH.

She was born September 9, 1925, in Brockway, a daughter of the late David L. Holt and Emma M. Britton Holt.

On March 23, 1946, she married W. James Ray in Brookville. They were married for 56 years. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2002.

Miriam was a 1943 graduate of Brookville High School.

Before marriage, she worked at Sylvania in Brookville, PA.

She was a homemaker, who enjoyed raising her family, reading, and knitting.

She was a lifelong member of the Brookville Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by three daughters: Linda Amond (Charles), Corry, PA; LuAnn Topel (Ronald), Williamsport, PA; and Nancy Green (Joseph), Bowling Green, OH and one son: David Ray (Karen) of Brookville.

She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Betty Fuller.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wed., Nov. 19 at the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville. A funeral service will be at 11am Thursday, Nov. 20 at the funeral home with the Rev. Nathan Royster officiating.

Interment will be in Temple Cemetery, Warsaw Township, Jefferson County, PA
