He was born June 28, 1937 in Indiana, Pa. to the late Murray K. Steffey Sr. and Kathryn L. (Fisher) Steffey.

He enjoyed playing football, hunting, and being with his friends.

In July 1958, “Steff” played defensive tackle for semi-pro football team known as the Jaguars based out of the Key West Athletic Club. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1959.

The Bible study was led by Dr. James Fugate and his wife Mary. Many people’s lives were changed during this time. Murray was an active member of the First United Methodist Church.
