Nancy (Jane) Trezise

Nancy (Jane) Trezise, 85, passed away at Nelson’s Golden Years in DuBois on October 24, 2023.

Born July 12, 1938, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna Jane (Roper) Trezise of DuBois.

Nancy graduated from the DuBois Area High School and went on to attend Buffalo Bible Institute in Buffalo, NY.

She then worked for the American Mission for Opening Churches in New York.

Nancy worked as a secretary for the DuBois District Magistrate, Wesley Read, until his retirement, and then for Dr. William Allenbaugh in DuBois.

She said, “I had great bosses that were always good to me.”

After she retired, Nancy served as a volunteer for Penn Highlands DuBois and the Penn Highlands Hospice Program.

Nancy was a member of First Baptist Church in DuBois.

Through the years, she taught youth groups, Sunday school, children’s church, and various neighborhood Bible clubs and studies.

Nancy helped start the First Baptist Church missionary group, Mary and Martha.

Her heart was in missions and she would do whatever she could to help support them.

Nancy devoted her life to her family, church, and close friends.

She had said, “I have been blessed.”

She felt a special connection to all the people she had been in contact with throughout her life.

Nancy is survived by two nieces, Mary Jane Aurand, DuBois, and Nancy (Aurand) Mowrey and her husband Scott, Sykesville, a great-niece, Hannah Mowrey, DuBois, and a great-nephew, Adam Mowrey, Sykesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Judy Aurand, and a brother-in-law, Harry.

There will be no public visitation.

A memorial service is planned for a later date.

Burial will be in Luthersburg-Union Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Adamson Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in DuBois, c/o missionary fund.
