BROCKWAY, Pa. (EYT) – New charges have been filed against a Jefferson County man accused of molesting a young girl.

According to court documents, the Brockway Borough Police Department filed the following charges against 47-year-old Thomas Alfred Alwine Jr., of Brockway:

  • Unlawful Contact With Minor – Sexual Offenses, Felony 3
  • Corruption Of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3 (six counts)
  • Indecent Assault Person Less than 13 Years of Age, Misdemeanor 1 (six counts)

According to a criminal complaint, on September 26, a known woman contacted Jefferson County Children and Youth Services to report that her nine-year-old daughter disclosed more allegations of sexual pursuit by Thomas Alwine.

A CYS worker went to the victim’s residence to speak to the victim.

The victim disclosed that Alwine had sexually touched her three times on her “private area” on top of and underneath her clothing. The victim reported that Alwine “sex kissed” her, describing that he put his tongue inside her mouth, and reported that the kissing and touching occurred when she was at his house, playing hide and go seek, according to the complaint.

A forensic interview with the victim was conducted on October 2.

The victim described how Alwine would start kissing her while her sister and friend would hide while playing hide and seek and went on to describe how Alwine kissed her while they both “hid” together under the covers in his bedroom and in another bedroom, according to the complaint.

The victim then said that the next day, Alwine kissed her and then touched her “private area” on top of her clothing while in a bedroom of his residence.

He was arraigned at 4:12 p.m. on Monday, October 22, in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak.

Unable to post $80,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

He was previously released from jail on $250,000.00 unsecured bail stemming from a case involving the sexual assault of the same nine-year-old victim at his residence in August 2018.

Jury selection on this case is scheduled for February 11, 2019.
