One Injured in Three-Vehicle Collision on Route 310

YOUNG TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A driver was injured in a three-vehicle collision on State Route 310 in Young Township on Tuesday afternoon. 

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, the accident happened at 3:24 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, on State Route 310 (Harmony Road), in Young Township, Jefferson County.

Police say a 2014 Ford Econoline E250 operated by 45-year-old Joshua A. Smith, of Reynoldsville, was traveling north on State Route 310 when he crossed into the southbound lane to pass a 2019 Kia Forte driven by 22-year-old Zachary S. Pape, of Punxsutawney, which was stopped in the northbound lane to turn left onto Anchor Inn Road.

According to police, Smith’s vehicle sideswiped Pape’s vehicle, as well as a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox operated by 31-year-old Stephanie J. Ansinger, of Anita, which was traveling south on Route 310.

Ansinger’s vehicle continued approximately 50 feet from the point of impact and struck a mailbox.

Ansinger suffered suspected minor injuries but was not transported.

Smith and Pape were not injured.

All occupants were using seat belts.

According to police, Smith was charged with a traffic violation.
