One-Vehicle Crash in Union Township, Driver Escapes Injury

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225 UNION TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to DuBois-based State Police, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 East, West of Roseville-Sigel Road, in Union Township, Jefferson County.

Police say around 5:30 a.m. on March 5, 26-year-old Kent O. Contreras, of Clarion, was traveling east on I-80, and his 2004 Buick Rendevue started to slide.

Contreras applied the brakes, and the vehicle continued to slide and then slid in a clockwise direction. It exited the travel lane to the south and struck a guide rail with its driver’s side front fender causing major damage to the front of the vehicle, according to police.

Contreras was using a seat belt and escaped injuries.

He was charged with a traffic violation.
