Parole Officer Visit Leads to Felony Drug Charges for Reynoldsville Man

REYNOLDSVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – A home visit from a Pennsylvania State Parole Agent led to felony drug charges for a Reynoldsville man after the agent found evidence of the distribution of marijuana.

Court documents indicate the Reynoldsville Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 20-year-old Justin R. Jerrell, of Reynoldsville.

According to a criminal complaint, around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, Agent Lingenfelter, of the Pennsylvania State Parole, contacted Officer Winfield, of the Reynoldsville Borough Police Department, to assist at a Main Street residence in Reynoldsville Borough where he was performing a home visit on Justin R. Jerrell.

Officer Winfield arrived at the residence and was asked to stand by and watch Jerrell while Agent Lingenfelter performed a search of the residence.

According to the complaint, Agent Lingenfelter found a Tommy Hilfiger gym bag in the bathroom containing two large vacuum-packed bags, of the type used to package pounds of marijuana for sale, with the strong odor of marijuana residue inside, as well as one grinder with suspected marijuana inside, two digital scales with marijuana residue, three marijuana smoking pipes, and a plastic cup with marijuana residue.

A field test was performed, and the substance tested positive for marijuana.

Based on the investigation, Jerrell was arraigned at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, in Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office on the following charges:

  • Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
  • Marijuana-Small Amount Personal Use, Misdemeanor
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor (three counts)

Unable to post $10,000.00 monetary bail, Jerrell was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, with Judge Inzana presiding.
