According to DuBois-based State Police, around 11:35 a.m. on January 16, 26-year-old Dylan C. Thompson, of Sykesville, and 49-year-old Michael S. Solida, of DuBois, were involved in the collision.

Police say this crash happened as Thompson was traveling eastbound on South Pancoast Road in a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban. Solida was traveling southbound on Wayne Road in a 1996 Ford Bronco.

According to police, the roadway consisted of a wet surface. Thompson “was traveling on a slight downhill grade and failed to come to a complete stop at a clearly visible stop sign.” The Chevrolet Suburban continued through the stop sign into oncoming traffic and was subsequently struck by Solida’s Ford Bronco.

Both vehicles came to a final rest after impact.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damages and were towed from the scene, police say.

Neither driver was injured.

A passenger in Michael Solida’s vehicle – Linda Solida, of DuBois – suffered a minor injury to her knee.

All occupants were using seat belts.

Thompson was charged with a traffic violation.

Falls Creek Fire Department and Reynoldsville EMS assisted at the scene.
