Patricia Ann (Beatty) Medell, age 75 passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at her home in DuBois, PA.
She was born January 3, 1941, to the late Earl and Margaret (Marshall) Beatty, in Brookville, PA. She retired from being a Registered Nurse and specialized in geriatric care.
She was a member of the Sweet Adelines of the Potomac Harmony Chapter in Virginia. She was president of the Residents Association at the St. Michaels Terrace. Her favorite hobby was supporting friends and family in their worst times.
She is survived by 1 son, Philip G. (Arlyn) Medell II; 1 daughter, Pola L. (Scott) Medell-Wilkinson; her adopted daughter, Patricia Ann (Ed) DeWolfe; 1 brother, Theodore Ray (Sandy) Beatty; 1 grandchild, Kira Marie Medell; 2 step-grandchildren, Amanda Sue and Samantha Nicole Wilkinson; and 1 step great-grandchild, Dawn Grace Walters.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 1 sister, Jeane Haines; and 2 brothers, Earl “Bud” Beatty, and John “Turk” Beatty.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the Presbyterian Church in Brookville, PA, corner of Main and White St., beginning at 11:00am, with the Rev. Emily Koehler. There will be no public viewing and the interment will be handled privately at the Richardsville Cemetery.
Due to severe allergies of some surviving family, they ask that live flowers not be sent and prefer that memorial contributions be made in her name to the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Rd., Bethesda, MD 20814.
