Paul S. “Joner” Kosko

Paul S. “Joner” Kosko, 91, Sykesville, fell asleep in the Lord, Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Christ the King Manor.

He was born in Sykesville on January 10, 1924, to John and Anna (Sloaf) Kosko.

He married Nancy (Yondrick) Kosko, who survives in Sykesville.

A graduate of Sykesville High School, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from Rockwell.

A member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Sykesville, Middle Ridge Sportsmen’s and a life member of American Legion Post 345 of Sykesville.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting as well as working in his garden.

He lived all his life in Sykesville.

He is also survived by one son, Paul M. and his wife, Roberta, Kosko of Reynoldsville; one sister, Agnes Fesko of Ohio; one brother, Victor Kosko of Sykesville; two grandchildren, Marcy Elder of Monroeville and Matthew Kosko of Sykesville; and one great-granddaughter, Maura Kosko.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Ed, Tom, and John Kosko; and a granddaughter, Melissa Ann Kosko.

There will be no visitation.

A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Robert Karl as celebrant.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military honors will be held at the cemetery by Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, 104 Shaffer St., Sykesville, PA 15865 or to Christ the King Manor, 1100 West Long Ave., DuBois, PA 15801.
