Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Young Township

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.YOUNG TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 10:30 a.m. on November 6, a pedestrian was struck by a car on State Route 536, in Young Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, a pedestrian – 75-year-old Patricia A. Hinderliter, of Punxsutawney – was struck by a 2007 Pontiac G6 driven by 24-year-old Rachel M. Kinter, of Punxsutawney

As a result of the collision, Hinderliter fell backwards and suffered injuries, police say.

The Pontiac came to a final rest in the middle of the travel lanes on Route 536 facing south.

Jefferson County EMS transported Hinderliter to Altoona Hospital.

The severity of her injuries are unknown.

Kinter was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Police say it was lightly raining, and the roadway was wet.

Lindsey Fire Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, and Jefferson County EMS assisted at the scene.

Police say Kinter was charged through District Office 54-3-01.
