Peter Yokim Jr., 81, of DuBois, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in St. College.
Born April 30, 1936, in Carnegie, PA, he was the son of the late Peter and Florence (Cope) Yokim Sr.
He married Sue Sheffler on June 1, 1957, in Pittsburgh. She survives.
Peter retired from McDowell Manufacturing as a lathe operator. He was a member of the Gelnett Memorial Church and the American Legion #17. Peter enjoyed woodworking, model trains and airplanes, and doing outdoor activities. He was a veteran of the Air Force.
In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by three children, Stephanie (Donald) L. Woodcook, Genesee, PA, Valerie (Yosef) S. Shimone, Tarheel, NC, and Christopher (Gail) P. Yokim, St. Marys; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three siblings, Michael (Margie) Yokim, McDonald, PA, Robert (Bernice) Yokim, Coconut Creek, FL, and Patricia Nice, Carnegie, PA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Thomas and Harry Yokim, and a sister, Anna May Harkins.
There will be no public visitation or service. All services were private and held at the convenience of Peter’s family. Interment will be in Rumbarger Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc.
