Pitt Football Picked to Finish Third in ACC Coastal Division in Media Vote

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh football team was projected to finish third in the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division this season after voting from 191 media members at last week’s ACC Football Kickoff media days in Charlotte.

Pitt received 14 first-place votes and 859 total voting points in the Coastal Division Preseason Poll, ranking behind only defending division champion North Carolina (1,238 voting points) and Miami (1,108) in the annual poll submitted at the conference’s media days.

The full 2016 ACC Football Kickoff Preseason Poll is listed below:

Pitt returns 52 lettermen and 18 starters from last season’s team that finished 8-5 (6-2 ACC) to place second in the ACC Coastal Division – four spots above the Panthers’ sixth-place projection in last year’s media preseason poll.
