Pitt’s Price, Henderson Honored by ACC with Weekly Awards

PITTSBURGH — Pitt senior defensive end Ejuan Price and sophomore wide receiver Quadree Henderson were honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference today for their performances in the Panthers’ 56-14 win over Duke.

Price was named the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week, while Henderson was honored as the league’s Specialist of the Week.

Price collected two sacks, three total tackles for loss and two quarterback hurries in the victory. He was highly instrumental in helping limit the Blue Devils to just 25 yards rushing on 22 carries (1.1 avg.).

The All-America candidate ranks fifth in the country in both sacks per game (1.00) and tackles for loss per game (1.7). More than half of Price’s 36 tackles this season have been behind the line of scrimmage. He has 19 TFLs and 11 sacks on the year.

This is Price’s second ACC weekly award this season (Oklahoma State) and the fourth of his career.

Henderson continues to solidify his status as the nation’s most explosive return man. Against Duke, he had yet another return touchdown, this one on a 65-yard punt return. Henderson now has four returns for touchdowns this season, including a nation-leading three on kickoffs. The punt return TD was the first of his career and the first by a Panther since 2013.

Henderson totaled 162 all-purpose yards against Duke, including a 52-yard touchdown run off a jet sweep. He is averaging 150.91 all-purpose yards per game to rank 12th nationally. Henderson is second in the country in combined kick return yards (967) and fifth in kickoff return average (32.2). He is also averaging 17.6 yards per punt return.

This is the third time Henderson has earned a weekly award from the ACC this season. He was previously honored following the Penn State and Virginia victories.

Pitt (7-4, 4-3 ACC) closes the regular season by hosting Syracuse (4-7, 2-5) at Heinz Field this Saturday. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m.
