Plow Truck vs Car Crash on Snow Covered Roadway in Perry Twp.

PERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a two vehicle crash occurred on State Route 3002, in Perry Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, on February 20 around 3:03 p.m., Cynthia N. Gemmell, 38, of Punxsutawney, was traveling south on SR 3002 (Porter Road).

Gemmell was approaching a blind right hand curve on the snow-covered roadway and crossed over the centerline into the northbound lane of travel and her 2013 Dodge Avenger was struck on the left rear fender and rear bumper area by a 2009 Mack GU Series plow truck, operated by Brian E. Ferguson, 41, of Summerville, that was traveling northbound.

The plow truck came to a controlled stop approximately 60 feet from the impact, near the intersection with PA 536, and came to A rest facing north.

Gemmell’s car came to a rest facing south approximately 12 feet from impact.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and neither suffered injuries.
