HEATH TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Marienville-based State Police say around 4:00 p.m. on November 26, an accidental shooting occurred in a wooded area, 50 yards north of Pine Run Road, .2 mile east of State Route 948, in Heath Township, Jefferson County.
Police say the incident happened as 55-year-old Brian J. Silvis, of Grand River, Ohio, was walking through thick woods, and the .22 revolver he was carrying on his hip caught on a branch and fired a single round into his right calf.
Silvis drove himself to Brookville Hospital for treatment.
