Police Arrest 24-Year-Old Man for Punching Punxsutawney Woman in the Head

crime-newsPUNXSUTAWNEY BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney Borough Police say an assault occurred on May 27, in Punxsutawney Borough, Jefferson County.

According to police, an altercation was reported on the 300 block of North Findley Street in Punxsutawney Borough.

Upon investigation, the police discovered that a female was involved in a dispute and altercation with a known, 24-year-old Punxsutawney man, police say.

The female reported to police that she was punched in the head by the known man, receiving injuries; subsequently, she sought treatment at the Punxsutawney Hospital, according to police.

The suspect was apprehended by Jefferson County Probation and taken to the Jefferson County Jail, police say.

Charges were filed by Punxsutawney Borough Police for Simple Assault and Harassment.
