Police Calls: Drug Possession, DUI Arrest

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Area state police responded to the following calls:

Drug Possession in Rose Township

Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated a Christmas Eve traffic stop on a black 2015 Hyundai Sonanta at 11:19 a.m. on State Route 28/Airport Road, in Rose Township, Jefferson County.

Police say the driver of the vehicle, a known white, 33-year-old Pittsburgh male, was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.

A known white, 32-year-old Pittsburgh female, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia and was likewise arrested.

Charges for both arrestees are pending.

DUI in Ridgway

Ridgway-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on 2014 Chevrolet Silverado for numerous traffic violations on Monday, December 27, at 1:33 a.m. on Ridgway Johnsonburg Road, in Ridgway Township, Elk County.

Police say the driver of the Silverado – a known, 28-year-old woman, of Johnsonburg – was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Charges were filed through Judge James L. Martin’s district court.
