YOUNG TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police are investigating an incident of theft by deception that occurred at WalMart located at 21920 Route 19 in Young Township, Jefferson County.
According to police, on February 24 between 2:55 p.m. and 3:04 p.m., Amanda Jane Pearce, 33, of Valier, removed two car adapters and a pack of firelogs from the shelf and allegedly returned them to the customer service desk using receipts from previously purchased items.
Pearce was subsequently given a refund of $28.35 for the items.
Charges are pending at Magisterial District Court 54-3-01.
