Police Release Details of Hit and Run Crash in Clover Township

CLOVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police have released the details of a hit and run crash that occurred on State Route 28.

Around 7:51 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, Punxsutawney-based State Police were assigned to investigate a hit and run crash that occurred along State Route 28 at its intersection with Jefferson Road in Clover Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, the driver of a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt was driving too fast for conditions, traveling south on State Route 28, and failed to negotiate a left-hand curve in the roadway.

The vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a guide rail along the northbound berm.

According to police, it is believed there were two occupants within the vehicle at the time of the crash, however, both fled the scene.

Summerville Borough Fire Department assisted at the scene with traffic control.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Leadbetter’s Towing.
