Police Release Details of Local Man Injured in Washington Township Crash

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State police released details of a crash that occurred in Washington Township earlier this month injuring a local man.

According to DuBois-based State Police, around 3:28 p.m. on April 6, a one-vehicle crash occurred on Airport Road near Rockdale Road in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 30-year-old Robert L. Ruff, of Falls Creek, was operating a 2012 Ford Escape, traveling south on Airport Road, when he lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason. The vehicle traveled into the northbound lane of travel, then struck a ditch and traveled approximately 55 feet further before coming to a final rest.

Ruff suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois by DuBois EMS.

He was not using a seat belt.

Falls Creek Volunteer Fire Department and McCool’s Towing also assisted at the scene.

Ruff was charged with a traffic violation.
