Police Seek Information on Hit and Run in Sandy Township

Blue flashing sirens of police car during the roadblock in the cSANDY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – According to DuBois-based State Police, a hit and run accident occurred on November 5, on Interstate 80 West, in Sandy Township, Clearfield County.

Police say a 2011 Chevrolet Impala was traveling west in the right lane of I-80 when a Freightliner struck the rear of the car from behind.

The driver of the Freightliner stopped at the scene to check the welfare of the occupants in the car but failed to provide the required information, according to police.

The Freightliner was observed stopped along the roadway a short distance from the scene straightening his front bumper, police say.

The occupants of the car were not injured, according to police.

An attempt to locate the vehicle was unsuccessful, police say.
