Pickup Truck Crashes into Semi on I-80

police-lights-3CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police say a two-vehicle accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at Exit 70, on Interstate 80, in Clarion Township.

According to police, around 4:57 p.m., 31-year-old Randi Tyler, of Byrnedale, was driving a 2010 Ford F150 pickup truck when she attempted to enter the eastbound lane of I-80 at the Exit 70 on-ramp.

Tyler’s F150 struck the right side of the trailer section of a 2005 Peterbilt tractor-trailer, driven by 65-year-old Thomas Lynch, of Jamesburg, N.J.

Both drivers were using seat belts and were not injured.

The Ford had major damage to the entire left side of it and came to rest on the berm of the onramp.

The tractor-trailer had minor damage to the right side of the trailer and continued to Exit 73 to prevent an additional hazard.

The tractor trailer was an oversized load the rear escort vehicle stopped to assist Tyler.

Tyler was charged with a traffic violation.
