Man Avoids Injury in Rose Township Crash


ROSE TWP., Jefferson Co,, Pa. (EYT) — A man crashed his pickup truck Sunday after police said he was driving too fast on a wet road in Rose Township.

Punxsutawney-based State Police said Stephen Barainyak, 66, of Springdale, was driving a 2013 Chevy Silverado on Route 28 when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve while making a passing movement and hit the guide rail.

Barainyak was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. He was cited for speeding.

The truck was removed from the scene by Leadbetter’s Auto and Towing.

Pine Creek Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
