He faces the following charges:

Drug Case:

– Contraband/Controlled Substance, Felony 2
– Possession of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

The charges stem from an incident that initially began in Punxsutawney Borough on August 8.

According to a criminal complaint, on Thursday, August 8, Officer Ryan Miller, of Punxsutawney Borough Police Department, received a request to respond to a residence on Cherry Street, in Punxsutawney Borough, Jefferson County, for a report of a domestic disturbance.

It was reported that a male at the residence pushed a female injuring her leg.

Officer Miller noted that he is familiar with the residence that is occupied by Jamie Painter and a known female.

According to the complaint, Officer Miller arrived at the location and observed Painter standing by his vehicle. The known female was holding an infant child and was distraught. She appeared to have blood running down her leg and a fresh injury to her shin.

The complaint notes the female victim reported that she argued with Painter and then he pushed her onto the concrete stairs outside the residence, causing injury to her leg.

A medic unit was summoned to attend to the victim.

She was subsequently transported to the Punxsutawney Area Hospital for treatment.

According to the complaint, Painter denied putting his hands on the victim and when asked how she obtained her injury, he reported to the effect that she was kicking stuff.

Painter was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock at 9:20 p.m. on August 8.

Unable to post $20,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

According to a second complaint, after Painter was arrested and placed into custody, among his possessions, during an initial search, was found a pack of cigarettes, a wallet, a lighter, and loose change. However, after being transported to the Jefferson County Jail, a second search was conducted, and a syringe and a spoon, indicative of narcotic use, were discovered in a pocket inside of another pocket in the cargo shorts that Painter was wearing.

The complaint notes a search of Painter’s wallet also revealed a plastic bag containing a crystal substance, suspected to be methamphetamine, and Painter acknowledged the narcotic and stated he had paid $100.00 for it.

Additional charges were then filed on August 8 against Painter in Judge Mizerock’s office.
