Punxsy Man Injured in One-Vehicle Crash in Gaskill Township

GASKILL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Punxustawney man was rushed to Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital following an accident that occurred early Tuesday morning in Gaskill Township.

According to DuBois-based State Police, around 1:20 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, a one-vehicle crash occurred on Robertsville Road at its intersection with Lipp Road and Aloe Park Road in Gaskill Township, Jefferson County.

Police say a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, operated by 52-year-old Robert E. Munger, of Punxsutawney, was traveling east on Robertsville Road when, for unknown reasons, Munger failed to negotiate a curve at the intersection of Lipp Road and Aloe Park Road.

The vehicle continued through the intersection while traveling east and struck an embankment with its front end. It then came to a final rest facing east against the embankment.

Munger was not wearing a seat belt and suffered injuries of unknown severity. He was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital by Jefferson County EMS.

Police indicated the crash was DUI-related.
