For over 20 years, Scott Anthony, owner of Punxsy Pizza, has been giving back to area volunteer fire departments with the “Chief” specialty pepperoni pizza.

Scott Anthony told exploreJeffersonPA.com, “Our customers will receive a discount with the purchase of the ‘Chief’ pizza. And, we are giving the fire department $5.00 for each pizza sold!”

Anthony said this promotion is part of the Pizza and Prevention fundraiser initated after 9-11 showing support to all of the firemen.

“It’s very important for the community to support the local fire departments. Fire departments need to do a lot a fundraising to stay afloat, so we need to help them in any way that we can,” Anthony added.

Anthony noted that he considers the firemen “unsung heroes.”

As a bonus, Punxsy Pizza received assistance from the “unsung heroes” who helped deliver and make the pizzas on Saturdays and Sundays.

According to Anthony, the firemen not only get to know the public while delivering pizzas, but they also checked smoke detectors for residents to ensure safety.

The “Chief” pepperoni pizza is still available until Tuesday, October 31.

Punxsy Pizza is also handing out coupons for the pizza that can be used at a later date.
